Tuesday, July 13, 2004Tour Report: First stop was Kelowna where we performed at the first ever Rock the Bluff music festival. Huge stage, breath-taking scenery and around 12,000 hardcore rock fans in attendance. We had the pleasure & honour of opening up for ZZ Top on the opening night (thursday, July 8th), a show we will not soon forget. ZZ Top has been doing this for 35 years and they still rock as hard as ever! We spent the rest of the evening hanging at our campsite which was right on Lake Okanagan. There's nothing quite like sharing a stage w/ "That Little Ol' Band from Texas," talking the night away w/ good friends & a few cold ones on the beach then waking up with a view of the waterfront from your tent. Day 2 of the festival featured The Trews, Seether & Evanescence. Next up was Calgary for a little Stampede action, sunday, July 11th. We arrived in Cowtown to a packed house at Coyotes, I don't think it would've been possible to fit another body into that place. This was our first trip to Alberta and we were very well received. We can't wait to return to Calgary Rock City, y'all know how to have a good time. Next up was Her Royal Biffness who turned that joint upside down! Bif Naked knows how to get it done and we had a blast playing with her kick-ass band. |

Sunday, May 23, 2004Just got back from Kelowna...our first road trip! What an experience. First we rolled into town and met the Power 104 crew live on location at the Keg. We arrived to some great news as Mexican Cockfight is now officially the number one most requested song at Power! We had a wicked time with Bob, Jasmin, Dirtman and all the gang. After our interview we checked into our hotel and headed on down to Prospera Place to get ready for the big gig. Things went well and were asked to perform an additional short set before we left the next day. We obliged...but before we did that we found time to get a parking ticket, hold the Stanley Cup (and have the picture to prove it!) and take in our first Memorial Cup game! That was one exciting battle with Gatineau hanging on for a 6-5 nail-biter over Medicine Hat. Needless to say it was an eventful weekend and a good time was had by all. We loved our stay and met so many cool people...we can't wait to go back! Kelowna is fast becoming our home away from home and we made alot of new friends up there. Thanks to everyone who have helped make our song number one at Power and congratulations to the Kelowna Rockets on winning the 2004 Memorial Cup! |
